Mississippi 6A top ranked Madison Central finished off Starkville on Saturday winning the third round playoff series 2 games to 1 with a 19–1 blow out in game three at home. Madison Central won game one at home 14–1 last Thursday; scoring 8 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Starkville scored their lone run in the top of the first; while the Jaguars added 4 in the third and 2 in the fourth.
The Yellowjackets won game two 3–2 at home in the bottom of the 7th inning. Madison Central scored a run in the 2nd and 3rd innings to take a 2–0 lead. Starkville tied the game with 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th. Starkville loaded the bases on a walk, hit batter, and a single by Ethan Pulliam in the 7th inning. Mason Thurlow got the game winning RBI went Jackson Owen was safe a the plate. The loss was just the second of the season for the Jaguars.
Back at home Saturday; Madison Central took control of game three with 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Starkville scored an unearned run on a fielding error in the first inning and the Jaguars added a single run in the second and third. Then scored 5 more in the bottom of the fourth for the final score 19–1.
Connor Nation went 3 for 3 (all doubles) with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored. Hunter Hines was 2 for 2 with 2 runs and 2 RBI and Jake Cook was 2 for 2 with 3 runs in the game. Starkville ended their season at 19–15 and Madison Central improved to 31–2.
