- Florida number 1 ranked Montverde Academy (11–0) has opened the 2020–21 season with 11 straight wins; beating Mainland High 65–35 last Saturday at home. The Eagles have a break for the rest of 2020. Then they fly to Phoenix Arizona to play in the Desert Classic Tournament starting on January 1st; opening against Arizona Compass Prep. Montverde Academy ara outscoring opponents by 32 points per game so far this season and averaging 69. The Eagles scored 100 against Master’s Academy December 10th; winning by 80 points (100–20). Sophomore Mjracle Sheppard leads four Eagles in double figure scoring with 12 per game. Mariana Valenzula, Fernanda Ovalle, and Rusne Augustinaite are averaging 10 points per game. The Eagles are shooting 57% from the field and 79% from the free throw line.
- Plant High (10–0) The Panthers won both games in the Cletus Stutzman Tournament played at Mount Dora Christian High last weekend. Plant is averaging 69 points per game this season and Kendal Cheesman is leading with 19 points per game. Nylan Jean is next with 17 points a game. Cheesman is also leading the team with 8.5 rebounds per game.
- Lake Highland Prep (Orlando) (9–0) The Highlanders have won their first 2 games in the United Bank Holiday Invitational at Myrtle Beach; beating Cannon Concord, NC 59–42 and Camden High, South Carolina 73–60. The Highlanders play New Hope Academy in the tournament championship today at 3pm.
- Wildwood High (8–0) The Wildcats beat Osceola 53–33 in their own Wildwood Holiday Shootout Tournament last night. Wildwood plays undefeated Carrollwood Day (6–0) tonight at home starting at 6pm. Kailani Lindsey leads the team scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds per game.
- Winter Haven (5–0) The Blue Devils are scoring 74 points per game and tourched West Orange 91–62 on November 28th. Senior Trinity Hardy is averaging 13 points and freshman Anovia Sheals 10 per game. Winter Haven will play in the LeDawn Gibson Holiday Classic starting January 8th (teams/time/tba).
