4 Winter Park pitchers combined last night to throw a 2 hit 9–0 shut out over University High (Orlando) last night to give the Wildcats their 12 victory in a row. Junior Adam Lewis got the win pitching 4 innings and striking out 5. Walker Adkinson and Reese O’Rourke both pitched an inning a struck out all 3 batters faced and Jake Willis pitched an inning; striking out 1 batter. Lewis is now 4–0 with a 0.52 ERA and 17 strike outs in 13.1 innings pitched.
The Wildcats scored runs in all but the second inning and pounded out 11 hits; getting 4 walks while the Cougars committed 3 errors in the game. Tyler Williams went 3 for 3 with 3 runs scored, a double, and a RBI. Devin Davis went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 RBI and Travis Gregory was 2 for 3 with a RBI and run scored for Winter Park.
Excellent base running helped the Wildcats win the game as 7Winter Park base runners stole bases in the game. Justin Austin, Tyler Williams, and Travis Gregory each stole 3 bases, Cade Haddix and Braydon Black 2, and Devin Davis and Carson Thomas 1 each.
Winter Park improved to 17–1 in Florida Class 7A and are a game and a half behind Stoneman Douglas 19–1. The Wildcats play Dr. Phillips 10–7 at home today starting at 6:30pm. The Panthers fell to Apopka High yesterday 8–1.
